Estee Lauder - Surreal Violet Nail Polish

Estee Lauder Surreal Violet nail polish
Estee Lauder Surreal Violet nail polish
Estee Lauder Surreal Violet, another one of my favorite nail polish. Unfortunately this is limited edition, and is probably hard to find now. I actually got mine from a discount cosmetic outlet in Japan.

The name surreal violet is very fitting for this polish. It has that ethereal quality to it. Very delicate and pretty. However I find that with this polish I often got tip wear within a few hours of application, even with base and top coat. Another cons is that the bottle contains less than average amount of polish 9ml vs. 14 ml.

Neutral Polish Comparisons

Sooo yeah, the colors looks somewhat similar to me on the bottle and they all gave that similar subtle elegance feel to me when worn, so I decided to see how similar or different these polish actually are.

From left to right we have:
1. Tony Moly - TR07 Grey Pink
2. OPI - Tickle My Francey
3. Rescue Beauty Lounge - Plie
4. OPI - Miso Happy with This Color

So how do they turns out? check out the swatches below.
I found that tony moly actually has the best formula and is opague in 2 coats. RBL Plie needs 3 coats and both of the OPI needs 4 coats. Actually even with 4 coats you can see the nail line with Tickle my Francey.

ps: I stopped adding the tony moly after 2 coat, and stopped the RBL after 3 coats.

Another question you might have is how similar is Plie to Miso Happy With This Color ? RBL is slightly warmer and leans a bit more peachy while Miso Happy With This Color is a bit cooler and pinker. I personally still prefer RBL Plie (it's one of my HG polish!) but considering how hard it is for me to get my hand on plie, the OPI version would have to do while I ration my RBL Plie.

They are close enough dupe though, so unless you're really looking at it, you can probably mix them on your finger and most people wouldn't notice that you have 2 different polish on your hand.

MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish - Whisper of Gilt

MAC whisper of gilt

This powder compact is part of the MAC extra dimension collection. It's a limited edition and supposedly really similar in texture to the Estee Lauder powder galee. This shade is called Whisper of Gilt and is golden toned. So probably more suited for those with yellow undertone.

You can see in the swatch below, left one is blended and right one is unblended. It gives a beautiful sheen on the skin. I don't really wear highlighter, so I can't really compare it to other highlighter, but it sure is pretty.

Tony Moly TR07 Nail Polish

tony moly tr07 nail polish

This polish my cousin's favorite polish, so I ask her to send me a bottle to try. I think it's called grey pink, but on the bottle it's only written as tr07.

Overall it's an easy polish to apply, it has nice consistency and seems to self level. The finish is semi matte, so if you like shiny nails like I do, you'll need a top coat.
I wear this with OPI natural nail base coat and sache vite top coat and I start getting tip wear around day 3. So... not too bad but could be better.

I can see why she likes it. It's a soft and flattering polish to wear. I say if you love nude-ish nails and can find this brand around you, give this one a try. It's also a very office friendly color.

Another thing, it's a bit hard to see but on my ring finger I added a coat of Etude House Matte Real Nail Top Coat, then did a shiny top coat as a french tip.
