BB cream Series - Dior Snow BB Cream

Lastly we have a high end BB Cream. This is Dior Snow BB cream. It has SPF 50 and PA+++
This BB cream comes in 2 shades, regular and the light shade, which is the one I'm wearing in the picture below.
The regular shade has pinker undertone, and the light shade has a more yellow undertone.

Among the 5 BB cream I review in this series, this seems to be the least scented. It does have a floral scent though.
The texture is a bit thick and can be a bit harder to blend.

This is hands down my favorite one among the bunch. It has the highest SPF and PA rating, and living in a tropical country, sun protection is important for me. (more so since I basicly treat bb creams as tinted sun screens).
Another plus point is that it doesn't have grey tone in it. a flaw that bb creams are prone to have.

Sadly, it's also the priciest one.

BB cream Series - Feverlet HD BB Cream

Fourth in the series is Feverlet HD BB Cream. This one has SPF 30 and PA ++

The texture is thick and can be a bit hard to spread and blend in at first. Once it's blended in though, it blends in naturally. It looks like your skin, but better. I kept staring closely at the mirror, and it doesn't look like I have anything on. The finish is natural and the coverage is sheer to medium.

This is the second BB cream I bought, and remains one of my favorite.
It's scented, but the scent disappears upon application.

BB cream Series - Peach Girl BB Cream

Third in the series is Peach Girl BB Cream by Holika Holika. It has SPF 37 and PA ++
It is scented, like every other bb cream in this series, and comes with a cute little cream blush.

The blush is attached on the cap of the bb cream. It's a pretty medium pink color, and blends nicely.
(left - unblended, right - blended)

This bb cream is creamy and easy to blend, and has a dewy finish. This is actually one of my favorite bb cream.
The coverage is sheer to medium, it evens out my skin tone, but doesn't really cover blemishes. You'll need to use a separate concealer for that.
The one I have is #2, natural beige. They do come in a lighter shade (#1 - light beige)

BB cream Series - Misha Perfect Cover BB Cream

Second bb cream in the series is Misha perfect cover bb cream. The one I have is shade 23 and it is darker in color compared to the other bb creams I review. It seems to blend in after application though. Misha also have a lighter shade (shade 21).

This bb cream has spf 42 and PA +++ and claims to "lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability, and prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties"

The texture is creamy and blends easily. It has good coverage, and gives a natural finish. I found that the scent lingers for quite a while after application though.

BB Cream Series - Skin79 Absolute Total BB Cream

This is the first post on my BB Cream series. Over the next few days I will go through some of the BB Creams I own.

The first one is Skin79 Absolute Total BB Cream.
This BB Creams has SPF37 and PA +++ and has wrinkle improvement and whitening among the claims. But how does it perform?

This BB Cream is floral scented, and has sheer coverage. The finish is natural leaning to glowy and doesn't really have oil control ability.
The texture is thick, and creamy.

This is the amount I applied on my skin.

And now the before and after:
These are taken in the same light condition, a few minute apart.

Overall I would not re-purchase this, mostly because it kinda breaks me out when used several days in a row, and I have other BB Creams that I like better. Keep in mind though that I do have sensitive skin that is very acne prone.

NOTW - Mavala Lagoon

Another NOTW for you.
This is Lagoon by MAVALA. Mavala is a Swiss brand, and their nail polish comes in a tiny 5ml bottles.
Despite of the small bottle size though the brush is good, and I don't have any problem using it.

The picture above is 3 coats, and the staying time is good, almost a week after application I only see minor tip wear. (worn with OPI natural nail base coat, and sache vitte top coat).

Lavshuca GN-1

Another item I got in Hongkong. Lavshuca is a division of Kanebo and this palate contains 3.2g of product.
I found the packaging to be quite flimsy. Pretty, but feels fragile and plasticky.

The colors are soft and shimmery, but not glittery. (with the exception of the gold color), and the shadows feels smooth to the touch.
As you can see on the swatch below, the pigmentation isn't that strong. It's more of a soft and pretty wash of color. (I found a lot of Japanese drugstore eyeshadow to have that tendency).

And yes, that dark green is more of a brown-ish green when swatched.

Kiss Me Heroin Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner

Wow that's a long name.
I bought this in Hongkong awhile back and has since become my go to liquid eyeliner.

This might not be the blackest eyeliner you'll find, but I found that the brush is easy to use and control, and the product dispenses nicely.
Another bonus point is that it sets quickly, and once it does, it doesn't budge.
I've had this for quite sometime and it hasn't dried up.

I don't wear liquid liner all too often though. I prefer using dark colored eyeshadow to create liner effect. Looks softer and more natural to me.
In fact when I wear this liquid liner, I often smudge eyeshadow on top of it, to soften the effect.

Muji Eyeshadow Quad 01

I couldn't find any english name for this product, only a code number of 01.
The packaging is clear plastic and is very compact. Simple and practical.
This quad contains 2.2gr of product and consist of 4 colors.

From top left going in clockwise manner:
  • medium brown with gold shimmer. Although the shimmer isn't very obvious in this color.
  • shimmery pale light gold.
  • shimmery white
  • dark brown with gold shimmer.
I found these to be smooth and pigmented.

Unfortunately not all Muji carries their make-up product. Their stock varied by country it seems. But if the muji in your country carries this, give them a swatch =)

Shiro Cosmetic Intertubes

Intertubes are Shiro Cosmetic's take on colored lip balm. The colors can be worn sheer, or build to opacity. They cost $6.50 for 5.5gr for the full size, and they also have mini and sample sizes. What I love with these, is how dewy the finish look. They are also quite comfortable to wear.

On the website she warned that these products stains, so be careful when you wear them.

Now on to the colors:
Note that these are all worn sheer-ly. I only have the sample size of Over9000 and Richrolled and it's hard to build up color when you're applying with finger.

Why Not Zoidberg:
It's a wearable bright coral. The formula is smooth and looks dewy. This is my favorite among these 3. It's bright, but it has a translucent quality to it, which makes it wearable. I don't usually wear brights, but I felt comfortable wearing this.

Over 9000:
Cool medium pink. I feel that this shade clash with my skintone. The formula is the same as zoidberg, it's smooth and has a dewy finish.

Rickrolled:
Red orange, close to Why not Zoidberg, but has more red in it. I have this in the sample size, and it felt dry and patchy to touch, but feels fine once it's on the lips.

Shiro Cosmetic Swatches

Shiro Cosmetic is an indie brand that does a lot of video game and anime inspired color. Some of their collection covers Pokemon, Zelda, Death Note, Portal, Hunger Games, and recently Fullmetal Alchemist.

This time I ordered 6 mini size shadow, and 1 of their intertubes. Caitlin, the owner of Shiro Cosmetics included some candy and 3 sample size shadow as bonus.

Now for the swatches:

First I had to say that these colors are hard to accurately photograph. The camera just refuses to capture the colors the way I see it.
  • Rebellion (The Tributes Collection):
Dark blurple (blue-purple) with rainbow shimmer. But the shimmer doesn't really shows up when swatched, and dissapear when blended.
  • Fullmetal (The Fullmetal Collection):
Eggplant purple with magenta and gold shimmer.
  • Zora Sapphire (The Legends Collection):
Vibrant cobalt blue, the shimmer isn't obvious on this one too.
  • Victory Road (The Super Effective Collection):
Taupey gray with aqua overlay. I can't capture the overlay in the swatch picture.
  • Chimera (The Fullmetal Collection):
Grayish purple with aqua and pink shimmer? looks like Fullmetal with pink overcast to me. The color is similar, but this is lighter than Fullmetal.
  • I Like Short (The Super Effective Collection):
a pale copper color, maybe coffee late with shimmer.

Another comparison shot of Chimera and Fullmetal:

Burberry Lip Cover

I've mentioned before that Burberry Lip Cover is my favorite high end lipstick formula. I only have 3 shades but each of these feels lightweight and wears comfortably on the lips. They are also non drying.

These lipstick have satin finish, and are rose scented. I personally quite like the scent, but some people might be bothered with it.

The three shades I own are:
  • Blush : Warm medium pink, this is the shade I wears daily.
  • Union Red : Finally, a red that works for my skintone. This is the only red I've found that didn't make me think "I look weird..." when I wear it.
  • Rosewood : Brown-ish pink. This shade applies lighter than it looks. And definitely prettier than it sound. I've read that this shade applies differently on different people.

    And now for the swatches:

Fyrinnae Eyeshadow Swatch - Part 2

Now for the second part of the swatches:

All finger swatched on dry skin, no primer.

As for my take on these color:
  • Marsmallow Puff: It's a white eyeshadow, nice and smooth. No complain here.
  • Ethereal Eire: Light green with multi colored shimmer.
  • Lorem Ipsum: Medium to dark blue with golden shimmer. Love this!
  • Freya: It is gorgeous! It looks lighter on the pot compared to swatched. Swatched it's a dark purple eyeshadow with magenta shimmer, again very pretty.
  • Snow White: Unfortunately, I don't like this. The shadow feels grainy to touch, and it's patchy when swatched.

As always, you can click on the pictures to see a bigger version.

You can purchase them here.

Fyrinnae Eyeshadow Swatch - Part 1

Guess what shows up today!
Every time I receive my purchases from Fyrinnae, it's always an exciting day.
I will swatch what I get in 2 batches. The neutrals first, and then the colors.

And maybe... I'll continue to swatch the rest of their colors that I have. No promise though.

So for the neutrals, I got these:

Witchy Woodland Creatures and Velveteen Warewolf is from their Samahain 2012 collection. The rest are from their regular line.

And now for the actual swatches:
All finger swatched on dry skin, no primer.
My take on these color:
  • Envy Me: Taupe with a greenish overlay. It's a color I predict I would wear often.
  • Work Safe Blue: A bit bluer than I expected. I thought it would be taupe with slight blue leaning, but this is more of a light blue with taupe leaning.
  • Witchy Woodland Creatures: Medium brown with multi-colored shimmer. Pretty and very pigmented.
  • Velveteen Warewolf: Darker than Witchy woodland creatures, and with a lot more of the multi-colored shimmer. Also really pretty and pigmented.
  • Orang Utan: Dusty rose? Dark peach? I'm not sure what to call this color. Definitely not as pale as the swatch on the Fyrinnae website.

As always, you can click on the pictures to see a bigger version.

You can purchase them here.

OPI DS - Opulance

This was one of my first OPI purchase and one of my fav. Opulance is from the OPI Designer Series line and it's a pink holo that is opaque in 2 coats. The formula is lovely and easy to apply.

The holo effect looks more like regular shimmer in low light environment (still pretty though).

And another picture with a different angle to show off the holo

OPI - Don't Touch My Tutu

This polish is part of the OPI New York City Ballet collection which consist mostly of soft and sheer colors.
Don't touch my tutu is a sheer slightly off white color. And by sheer I mean really sheer. The formula is very watery, but it applied smoothly.

The picture above is 4 coats, and no top coat. As you can see it's still sheer even after 4 coats.
At one coat, it's nearly invisible on my nail.

I typically hates sheer polish. It seems pointless to me. But this one? somehow I like it.
The white is not stark, it's soft white. That combined with the translucency of it creates an image of clean delicate nails.

Another way to wear this polish is with french or funky french manicure. I found that when I do funky french, a layer of sheer color on top makes the color blends better.

Rogue Dior Nude Lip Blush - Charnelle

Rogue Dior Nude Lip Blush is supposed to provide natural "blush" to the lips. The shade above is Charnelle, a pinky peach color. The color has a translucency to it, but it's not sheer.
This color gives a polished but natural look, it will complement a heavier eye make-up nicely, or on days you want to wear a more natural look.

The formula is comfortable to wear, and it is not drying on me.

Below is a comparison swatch in the following order:
- Lancome Rogue in Love - Corail in Love
- Rogue Dior Nude Lip Blush - Charnelle
- Burberry Lip Cover - Blush

As you can see, the Burberry one is the odd one out.
Corail in love and Charnelle looks similar when swatched. But despite of the name, Corail in love is pinker, and brighter. Maybe that is why it looks a bit... odd on me. Charnelle is warmer and more subdued. I find that Charnelle complements my skin tone better (nc 20-ish)

Price wise, Lancome is $25, Burberry is $30 and Dior is the most expensive one at $32.
Formula wise for me personally Burberry wins, Dior comes in second place, and Lancome is my least favorite out of these three.

Kevyn Aucoin - The Sensual Skin Enhancer

Kevyn Aucoin - Sensual Skin Enhancer is a teeny tiny pot of foundation-concealer hybrid.
How tiny you ask? you can see the size comparison between the pot and a typical mac eye shadow below.
The diameter is slightly smaller than the MAC eyeshadow, and the height is slightly less than double of the eye shadow pot. The actual weight of the product is 18g.

Now that the size issue is out of the way, what is this product like?
The first thing that strikes me is how creamy it is. It's very creamy and blend-able. I can see how you can use this as foundation, or mix it up with moisturizer or sun screen, since it is very blend-able.

Another picture to show you how the product look inside the pot.

The color I got is SX05. Supposedly this is the match for NC20-ish skin.
So how does the color compares to other concealer? I did a quick comparison swatch between the few concealers I have.

The second picture shows the items I'm swatching.
1. MAC - Studio Finish Concealer in NC20
2. Kevyn Aucoin - Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX05
3. Borjois - Healty Mix Concealer in 51
4. Kevin Beautymaker - BB Mineral Concealing Cream (I think it's their lightest shade, but the tube doesn't have any code written on it)

So how do they compare?
The Kevyn Aucoin one is the creamiest and the easiest to spread and blend.
Color wise it's lighter and yellower than the other 3. I'm actually worried that this will be too light for my skin tone, but thankfully it's not. It also didn't oxidize on my skin, which is always nice.

Wet n Wild - Silent Treatment Color Icon Eye Shadow Trio

This trio consist of a shimmery pink color, a (very) dark brown with golden shimmer, and a purple taupey color.

These are nicely pigmented and all the colors are very pretty and wearable.
I think the colors pairs well with each other, and that is always nice in a small palate like this. That way you have the option of doing a full eye look with just one item.

Also, you can easily do both a neutral and a smokey look with this palate.

Here's a dry swatch:

and another one swatched over pixy epoxy.

ORLY - Prelude to a Kiss

Orly Prelude to a kiss is a peachy pink polish that is opaque in 2 coats. The formula self level pretty well and I found the application to be easy.
It's a pretty, feminine and soft color that I think would look lovely on pale skin.

On my NC20-ish yellow toned skin, it can look a tiny bit stark in low light situation. But in daylight, it's lovely.

NOTD - OPI Suzi Takes The Wheel

This is OPI - Suzi Takes the Wheel from OPI Touring America collection.
I'd say that this is a green tinged gray. The swatch above is 2 to 3 coats (2 coats on some fingers, 3 on others) so, 2 thicker coats will probably suffice.

The formula and wear time is good, I've had this on for a week and only getting very minor tip wear.
